TRACK DESCRIPTION:

– From Field travel 3 km. on hwy 64 north, turning right onto Pike Lake road. – Follow the road for 6.5 km passing by Pike Lake, cross the creek and continue straight ahead for 1.5 km. Do not make a left at the first fork after the creek for we will be returning on this trail. When we meet the pole line turn left and continue on to just before Rat Lake and turn right up the pole line. – Continue passing a hunt camp and onto a fork in the road. Turn right. Left will bring us to Mayotte’s camp. – A short distance ahead, we follow the edge of a swamp. This can be tricky so with caution take the corduroy road to the right. Continue on to the main trail and turn right. – Follow the main trail 3 km. and turn left at the fork. Right will lead you to a hunt camp and will follow the King Run. – Cross the bridge spanning Holdridge Creek and a short distance away, you will reach a road going east-west. If you turn left this will bring you to Hwy 64 and Mountain View Lodge. Turn right (east) will bring you near Camp Nine Lake. This is a beautiful spot to stop and is considered a choice place to camp. – Continue on the main road which turns northeast for 4 km. At the fork turn left. Going straight ends up on Hwy 11N. – Continue on to Finlayson Lake and a beautiful beach. – Continue straight ahead to Hwy 64. Along the way there are spots of exposed rocks so caution is advised. Also just before reaching hwy. 64 you cross a large swamp. Going is fine since it has a gravel bottom. – Turn right following the highway crossing the Marten River Bridge. From here follow the trail on the side of the road, then the snowmobile trail crossing Marian Creek and Hwy 11 N. Cross the highway and follow the pipeline to Marten River and the entrance to the park. You can grab a bite to eat here at Lumpy’s. – Return back along the same route to where we came out to Hwy 64. Now follow the pole line all the way back, crossing Holdridge Creek and back to Pike Lake Road. – Follow the route back to the parking area.

HISTORY: This area is a favourite for many riders from the West Nipissing Community and can be accessed from Field. Part of this track is used annually by the Field Rally. We last had a ride here in 2018.
