Bonfield Blue Sea ATV Poker Run – May 10-2026
The first ride for some members of the club was this past weekend as a part of the Bonfield Blue Sea ATV Poker Run. Over 200 machines participated in this Lions Club event in Bonfield including 6 Side-by-Sides and one ATV from our club. The weather held out until the end of the day while the group sat down for a spaghetti dinner and commiserated over not winning the best poker hand.
The trails had a mix of roadways, sand trails and a few rocky riverbed sections which made for a comfortable ride with many points to pull over and gather as a group for a short rest and conversations. There was a steady flow of riders throughout the trail and many examples of ridership in assisting other with breakdowns and pull outs for those challenging areas. At one point there were five riders lifting the front end of a bike to drain out the water and mud when one rider decided the path to the right look like fun.
Following the stop for a Lunch break by a small lake where hotdogs and other things were available for the riders, you picked up your poker card and continued on your way on the back half of the giant looping trail. Towards the end of the ride a moderate sized mud bog held the attention of many riders as they watched those with machines adapted for deep water race across the bog. Mud flew. Crowds cheered and everyone enjoyed the show.
This ride for those of our group that attended would be recommended to others as a “must ride” event for next year. So if you think you would like to experience this poker run, mark your calendar and keep your eye open for next year’s promotion of this ride.
